Author report: Jeremy Strong

Jeremy strong was born on the 18 November 1949 in Eltham, London. His books are a mixture of humor and mischief, and he has won about four awards for his wonderful work. He has written 77 children's books, and every one of them is absolutely hilarious! One of his books, called THERES A VIKING IN MY BED, was even made into a movie!

Here are three facts:
His nickname is "Jay"

He used to put the jam in donuts in a factory, until he decided to become a full time writer

And one more, When he was three years old he fell out of a window and banged his head and broke his arm.

If I ever met Jeremy strong, the first three questions I would ask would probably be : How did you think you got the idea for your book MY BROTHERS FAMOUS BOTTOM ? Who inspired you to start your writing courier? Who do you look up to the most?

Book review for Warrior cats number one: INTO THE WILD

Warrior cats INTO THE WILD is the first in the warrior cats series by Erin Hunter, and is about a strong willed cat called  Rusty, who puts behind him the kittypet life he used to have to join the wild cats of the woods...

But many dangers await him, and some of the clans  are plotting against his beloved clan, thunderclan. And plus the clans deputy, Tigerclaw, is always watching him and is trying to find faults in him....
Erin hunter really makes this warrior cat world come to life, and it is so inspiring for those thinking about writing their own books.
What will happen? Will he prove to Tigerclaw and the other cats of the clans that he is a true loyal warrior, and not a soft house cat? Find out in WARRIORS BOOK ONE: INTO THE WILD

I would recommend this series to people aged 10 and up, as some words are made up, and there is bloodshed, as characters die a lot...

A visit to maple glen garden

Yesterday we went to maple glen garden for the day, and it was wonderful! There are so many different kinds of plants and birds, from pine trees to tropical looking flowers, sparrows to amazing parrots! There were lakes with pretty flowers and white ducks and geese sitting on eggs, and a very grumpy black swan sitting in a nest on the side of the path. The photo at the top is some of the pheasants that roam the gardens, they are very friendly and like to eat daisies. The next picture is one of the lakes, with lots of flowers and tall trees in the background.
The last picture is the beautiful violet flowers that took up a very large garden, and are very pretty!

We hope to go back very soon, it is a very nice place to go!

Time lapse

This is a time lapse from the 1900s, it has been done with some sort of time lapse camera. The first time lapse was made in 1897 by Georges Melies. A time lapse is made by setting up a camera where you want to film, and the camera takes a photo every however long you want. I pads and I phones can be used for time lapse as well, using special applications. most time lapses are filming the stars and sky, and of things decaying or rotting, and plants growing. However, some people film other things, such as, I have seen a time lapse of bugs eating a big mac burger.
Time lapses are made all around the world, and are often put in movies or TV programmes.
They make an excellent project and are very easy to make, depending what you want to film. Some time lapses can be edited on special apps to give them an old or black and white look, where as most people prefer to keep it simple. There you have it, that is what a time lapse is! If you want to look at more, i suggest youtube is the best option as there are many to see!

Riding Peanut

Recently we have been breaking in our miniature pony, Peanut. Grace has been leading him around with me on him, and then gradually we are getting to her having him on the lunge line also with me on him trotting and walking around in circles. He is doing really well, and is acting like a pro so far and I am hoping that we will succeed in getting his manners back....

Did you know that some hummingbirds weigh as much as a penny? Did you know that a newborn foals legs are already about 90% as long as they will be when the foal is fully grown?

Did Did you know that if a Mexican walking fish loses a part of its body,(even a part of its brain) it can grow it back in a couple of weeks!

GUINEA PIGS VS BUNNIES!!!!!!!

Well......... Whats better? Rabbits of course!

Why?  First of all, rabbits are much smarter and way more fun - they don't make messes everywhere....... And second, you can train them to come when their called and jump hurdles. Lots of people do that.

Guinea pigs aren't quite as fussy as some rabbits can be, and guinea pigs can be better for beginners. Rabbits come in all shapes and sizes, like the one in the photo is called a lop eared rabbit. Some guinea pigs can be very skittish, and some are very tame. Rabbits mostly enjoy being cuddled, where as guinea pigs just.... well.... don't really care.

All pets have different personalities, which make them very fun. But if I could chose one of the two, its obvious I would chose a bunny.

Just a little story.....

Hello! my name is Squeakers. The story I'm about to tell you is about how me and my friends gave the poor family down the road the best Christmas present ever. We told them we had arranged their house to be in a TV show called
Extreme House Makeover.   They didn't know what to say! When the camera crew arrived to start the show, it was my job to take the house owners Cindy and Bella to the movie theater, the mall, and many other entertaining places like that. While we were out, all the others on our street got prepared to get their paws dirty! When we got home, it was brilliant!!!

Here is the front door.......... Nicely painted!

Here is them looking around their NEW kitchen! Before the makeover, they barley even had a kitchen!
And here is the lounge! There used to be a big hole in the wall and plaster all over the floor. As you can see, that has been taken care of!
And here is the dining area! There used to be a table with three and a half legs and chairs that were too high up.

And here is the master bedroom. There used to be termites all through the whole room!

And here is the kids bedroom! Pretty cool, huh? This place was nothing compared to what it is now! And here is the bathroom! There used to be no toilet! So they had to keep hiring portaloos.

And when they came to the front porch.........

There was a surprise party in the backyard! So they partied and partied and partied until nightfall. "I don't know how we could ever thank you!" They say, "We are so grateful to have such great friends. I don't know what we'd do without you."

THE END.

Those special moments..........

These are some of the special moments of the holidays of Liquorice. There are some moments of life that are fun and exiting, like when you go horse riding, or when you go for a bike ride ALL on your own.

Or when you come home from the fun park with a giant teddy hamster in the back seat of your car.

enjoy those moments like when you go to the museum and see your friend drive past in her brand new blue car.

Honor those special moments like when you see your new baby brother for the first time, and when you have your friend over for a sleep over and you stay up until midnight jumping around and telling funny stories about when you were very little.

These are only some of the little moments Liquorice has photos of, if I could tell you all of these little mouse tales, I could fill a whole book.

THE END.....................

Who is Mo Willems?

Mo Willems was born in 1968 in new Orleans, and now lives in new york, where he is a writer and animator for sesame street. He has written many books including DON'T LET THE PIGEON DRIVE THE BUS! and LEONARDO THE TERRIBLE MONSTER. He has written sooo many books that I would probably not be able to count them all!
He has also won heaps of awards for so many of his great books.
Some great questions to ask him would be : "Where did you get the ideas for your Pigeon books?"
Or,"Did you ever go to art lessons?" And lastly, "When did you get the ideas for your Elephant and Piggy books?"

Whats better? Cats or Dogs?

Whats better? Cats or Dogs? Well, I actually think that dogs are better. Wanna know why? Well here are some of my answers............... 1. Dogs think of their owners as family. Cats? No way! They aren't as social as dogs at all. 2. Dogs just so happen to be waaaay smarter! Ever heard of Rolf the counting dog? Or what about White paw? 3. Cats have got extremely sharp claws, so that means that they always have to have a scratching post or they'll just rip all your furniture apart! 4. Dogs are more fun because they will actually welcome you back if you even go out for about half an hour they will be ready to smother you in kisses, and cats will just act like you never even left. 5. And lastly dogs will also enjoy a walk, and cats will actually just take themselves for a walk. Every breed is different, all people like different things, some like to stay at home, and some like to go for big long walks. So every dog is specially designed for different people.

If you think the complete opposite, I would like to know what other people think about this, so please comment in the box below.

The adventures of Raspberry and Peaches!

It was a fine day to have a nap- but not for Raspberry. ''Im bored! This day is to nice to go to sleep! Who
wants to go for a walk with me?" The others said nothing. Then Peaches chimed in, "I will go," she squeaked, "If that means we can go quickly past old squeaks house so she wont invite us over for the millionth time." "Ok," Raspberry replied, " But lets not be to long. C'mon! lets go!" So they both went up the tunnel, and out the door of the den. They both went in, and left the door open.
Then they both slid down the string they had tied to the tunnel. "Lets take the car!" Squeaked Raspberry. "But I thought this was supposed to be a "walk" not a "drive"." "Oh well," squeaked Raspberry. "We'll take the car and then walk back. Remember, this is not a chance to make a mess."

So they both climbed in between the wall and the shelf to the other side.

"Come on! Get in the car!" Squeaked Raspberry.

As soon as Peaches had her tail in the car, Raspberry had her paw on the pedal. It was hard for two tiny things to control such a powerful thing. "No no! like this!" "Eeeek! nobody is steering!" And "Duck!" And "Look out for the elephants!"

Finally, they had made it out of that jumble of plastic animals. "Lets go back now." "OK." said Raspberry. So they did. Getting back was even harder,  because There were two huge plastic elephants completely blocking their path.

"Eeeek!" Screamed Peaches. "No not yet,"

 "Now Eeeeek!"

But just as they were about to crash, Peaches had an idea. "Quick! jump out here!" "OK!" Said raspberry. So they jumped out just at the last second. Crash! To a mouse it was a huge explosion, but to a person it was just a little bump.

They quickly ran back to the rope, and climbed up.

"I hope we didn't wake up old Squeak!' Whispered Raspberry. "Nope! She's still fast asleep." Whispered Peaches. With one final leap, they were back home. "Thats enough adventure for today!" Squeaked Raspberry.

                               THE END.

BENS BREAKFAST!

Yesterday morning our two dogs Ben and Lilly
ran out of dog biscuits. So for school work me and (my older sister) Grace had to cook them some rice. So we did that, and we also made some doggy masterpieces! First we cooked the rice, then we put the rice into a dessert bowl, turned the bowl over onto a plate, then tada! A rice castle! Then we used some of last nights leftover dinner - chicken! Ben really enjoyed the fact that I put roast vegetable seasoning on the chicken! The photo above is the on I made for ben.

Ben really likes it! :D
