Author report: Jeremy Strong

Jeremy strong was born on the 18 November 1949 in Eltham, London. His books are a mixture of humor and mischief, and he has won about four awards for his wonderful work. He has written 77 children's books, and every one of them is absolutely hilarious! One of his books, called THERES A VIKING IN MY BED, was even made into a movie!

Here are three facts:
His nickname is "Jay"

He used to put the jam in donuts in a factory, until he decided to become a full time writer

And one more, When he was three years old he fell out of a window and banged his head and broke his arm.

If I ever met Jeremy strong, the first three questions I would ask would probably be : How did you think you got the idea for your book MY BROTHERS FAMOUS BOTTOM ? Who inspired you to start your writing courier? Who do you look up to the most?

Book review for Warrior cats number one: INTO THE WILD

Warrior cats INTO THE WILD is the first in the warrior cats series by Erin Hunter, and is about a strong willed cat called  Rusty, who puts behind him the kittypet life he used to have to join the wild cats of the woods...

But many dangers await him, and some of the clans  are plotting against his beloved clan, thunderclan. And plus the clans deputy, Tigerclaw, is always watching him and is trying to find faults in him....
Erin hunter really makes this warrior cat world come to life, and it is so inspiring for those thinking about writing their own books.
What will happen? Will he prove to Tigerclaw and the other cats of the clans that he is a true loyal warrior, and not a soft house cat? Find out in WARRIORS BOOK ONE: INTO THE WILD

I would recommend this series to people aged 10 and up, as some words are made up, and there is bloodshed, as characters die a lot...

A visit to maple glen garden

Yesterday we went to maple glen garden for the day, and it was wonderful! There are so many different kinds of plants and birds, from pine trees to tropical looking flowers, sparrows to amazing parrots! There were lakes with pretty flowers and white ducks and geese sitting on eggs, and a very grumpy black swan sitting in a nest on the side of the path. The photo at the top is some of the pheasants that roam the gardens, they are very friendly and like to eat daisies. The next picture is one of the lakes, with lots of flowers and tall trees in the background.
The last picture is the beautiful violet flowers that took up a very large garden, and are very pretty!

We hope to go back very soon, it is a very nice place to go!

Time lapse

This is a time lapse from the 1900s, it has been done with some sort of time lapse camera. The first time lapse was made in 1897 by Georges Melies. A time lapse is made by setting up a camera where you want to film, and the camera takes a photo every however long you want. I pads and I phones can be used for time lapse as well, using special applications. most time lapses are filming the stars and sky, and of things decaying or rotting, and plants growing. However, some people film other things, such as, I have seen a time lapse of bugs eating a big mac burger.
Time lapses are made all around the world, and are often put in movies or TV programmes.
They make an excellent project and are very easy to make, depending what you want to film. Some time lapses can be edited on special apps to give them an old or black and white look, where as most people prefer to keep it simple. There you have it, that is what a time lapse is! If you want to look at more, i suggest youtube is the best option as there are many to see!

Riding Peanut

Recently we have been breaking in our miniature pony, Peanut. Grace has been leading him around with me on him, and then gradually we are getting to her having him on the lunge line also with me on him trotting and walking around in circles. He is doing really well, and is acting like a pro so far and I am hoping that we will succeed in getting his manners back....

Did you know that some hummingbirds weigh as much as a penny? Did you know that a newborn foals legs are already about 90% as long as they will be when the foal is fully grown?

Did Did you know that if a Mexican walking fish loses a part of its body,(even a part of its brain) it can grow it back in a couple of weeks!
